There was a Murphy's Drug Store on the northwest corner back in the 50s, next to a car sales lot and with a Black Cat billboard on the side of the building.

Murphy's was right beside the car lot. It was a part of Rexall's. It also had a soda fountain. Also Soda Jerk's. First place i had Vanilla Milkshake's with my dad. I could not believe you got a 2nd glass full of milkshake. I used to read entire comics there. Murphy's was demolished when Eglinton was widened.(around 1965-66.

They eventually tore down Murphy's to widen Eglinton Ave. I remember this corner so well as I lived at Eglinton & Guestville and use to dash across Eglinton to get to work on time. What great memories looking at the wonderful pictures posted.
