I remember seeing " Forbidden Planet '' there when I was a kid , not during it's original run though . So many owners tried to save that theater it had many incarnations , the San Carlino theater (Italian movies), Indian and Pakistani movie theater . I think it was a church for a while as well . When they finally knocked it down there were rats the size of small cats running around Mount Dennis for months . I think the lack of parking killed that theater , we always had problems with people parking in the restaurant parking area from the theater.

Always liked going there...I think it was 25 cents admission...early 60's

Stephen Lewis & Michele Landsberg had their 1st date here. Son of David Lewis, longtime Fed MP for York South.

What memories that theater brings back! 25 cents for 2 movies and a cartoon was great!
Joanne Leonard
We used to go to the Mount Dennis Theatre and watch all these corny Bruce Lee movies too.
Jim Mitchell
The memory's of going to that show on Sat afternoon, and coming out, you knew you would be playing cowboys and Indians for the next two hours.

No mention of Nobby, what was his side kicks name, "stop throwing the popcorn boxes at the screen, or I will shut the movie off!"
Judy Brown-Giraldi
My Grandpa Brown worked at the theatre...not sure if his nickname was Knobby but he did have an artificial leg.
Teddie Wright
Knobby Brown worked at The Mount Dennis Theatre mid 50s to mid 60s. His job was to keep the kids in order and throw out the bad ones. I was ALWAYS good no matter what you hear. He was also one of the more than 500 WW1 volunteers from Mount Dennis and area. Mount Dennis had the highest ratio for volunteers in Canada. His people counter is in his hand.
Cecilia King-Findlay
I saw so many Disney movies there.
