The bakeshop had two separate stores. When facing the building, the door on the right was the bakeshop, and the door on the left was my parents' travel agency, Barbi's Tours.

I went on a Nashville bus trip one Thanksgiving with my friends mother. Barb and Stu were working there.

Booked our trip to Wheeling West Virginia thru them! Wasn't Barbi your mom?

I grew up in Mount Dennis for 20 years till 1982. my parents owned The Bakeshop at Weston Road and Eglington for 23 years.I married Linda Huth, also from Mount Dennis. In going throughthe posts that are listed I can remember many of the local businesses and places from the area. Also the many local families that made up the community of Mount Dennis and continued to support the local businesses of the area including my parents shop. Memories that wont be forgotten. Keep adding to those many memories to keep the history alive.
Sharon Ross
Loved going in there as a kid. Loved the chocolate eclairs with real cream!
Marg Vandermey
My parent took over in 1962. From this day on my parents had many, many faithful customers come through the door and over time they have become like family. They started The Bakeshop in 1962 and sold it in 1983. Well, some of the recipes are old family ones. A lot of Mom and Dad's recipe were written in dutch and they also made most of their things from memory too.

A store that is well remembered is The Bakeshop where one could purchase some good homemade fine pastries. This store was beside and north of a travel agency store.
Debi Rideout
They made the BEST Empire Cookies and Caramel Buns in the whole world!!!!! I could gain 5 lbs just by walking past. LOL I really miss them and the bakery.
Janet Millward Godber
OMG! My favourite place in the world. In the bakeshop, right in front of the cookies, and let's not forget that kind smiling face behind the counter. I remember this like it was yesterday. What a great flashback. These pictures are a treasure.
Nancy Devine
Their chocolate chip cookies were works of art! My birthday cakes were from this beautiful bakery. I wish the family would do a cookbook. I am sure it would be a best seller.
Louise Baker Bucci
Ohhhh...the meat pies! My Dad would buy them every Saturday. My birthday cakes right up until I got married - pineapple French cream icing! I can almost taste the memories!
Wanda Sosnowski
Miss those days before going to school... stopped in to buy strawberry custard tarts and puff glazed chocolates ... how times have changed... cant seem to find that right tasting pastry anymore...
