My father learned how to knit as a child growing up in England. He used to knit my brothers and I sweaters. We were in the shop one day, and Mr. Basian was so impressed with my father's work that he asked Dad if he would knit some stock for him to sell in the store. My father politely declined, saying he didn't want his relaxation hobby to turn into a part-time job.

Bought my first suit there when I got my first pay packet @ Facelle. I was a 16 year old apprentice. 1961

Awesome shop yes my husband Ron got a lot of his clothes there. Al knew how to treat his customers and as a result you bought stuff from him
Teddie Wright
I remember his store. Last things I bot there were two shirts. One brown. One blue. When were the leafs there? I saw Dave Keon.

Al was a bit of a role model to the cohort somewhat older than I, young men my brother's age who would have been in their late teens in the early 1960s. Good to hear he's still around.
Rosey Guidolin
He was the men's clothier of choice on Weston Road where one could go and open an account. You would never see that today!

Al Bassians was a very classy store Doubt if he'd remember but I was the first female he hand-tailored dress pants for . It would have been around 1970ish. They were called Stove Pipes. My dad was a good customer of his and he agreed to do this. Glad to hear he is still around he used to have so many back problems
