On the other side of Locust there was a mens wear shop that this neat guy Mr.Adams operated, that was the name of his shop, Adams Mens Wear, he had a big sign hanging over the street from his building at the corner of Weston Road and Locust Street, once, in grade nine he sold my mom this laminated foam filled cross patterned grey and black raincoat for me to wear to St.Mikes.

Adams Men’s and Boys Wear, this was before Bassians and just across the road—in 1952 I bought my own clothes to start grade 9 at that store!

Mr Adams ran the post office in the Sports wear Shop after he sold his store. He was a lovely, gentleman with Old World European ways. He also had a number tattoo on his arm, having survived the Holocaust. A kinder man I have yet to meet. He and my Poppy were great pals.

In the late 1960s, it became a law office and still is today. Sydney Klotz law office moved here from across the street
